Advanced Air Disinfection Technology
The AIR160 Classic is based on existing air disinfection methods that are already being used to purify the air in hospital operating theatres. Specifically, three successful methods have now combined into a single device that is suitable for smaller areas up to 100 m³. These three methods are: air ionization, filtration, and UV-C light disinfection.
Why Clean Air Matters
Purifying the air you breathe is no longer a superfluous luxury. In fact, an increasing number of micro-organisms and chemical pollutants are commonly found in the air we breathe in indoor environments, including viruses, bacteria, and moulds. These contaminants make our air less healthy to breathe. Additionally, smoke and pollen can also be successfully diminished with effective air purification.
Ready-to-Use & Low Maintenance
The AIR160 is a compact, stand-alone system, immediately ready for use with simple installation and maintenance. Moreover, it is easy to service, stylish, and effective; therefore, it’s the perfect air purifying system for many applications.
Specifically, a quiet, high-performance ventilator draws the air through a hospital-grade Air Flow Electrostatic (HAF) Filter into the Disinfection Chamber.
The Fan circulates 50 m³ of air per hour
The NIDEC fan draws air from the room into the bottom of the unit, creating efficient air circulation. Specifically, the fan circulates 50 m³ of air per hour through the Aetaire. Depending on the size of the room, the fan speed can be adjusted to either 25 or 50 m³ per hour to ensure optimal air purification.
Dust particles and pollen are caught in a special Aetaire HAF filter
The air drawn in by the Aetaire first passes through the Aetaire High Air Flow (HAF) filter. Notably, this special filter contains an antimicrobial film layer that prevents the growth of various infectious substances on the filter. As a result, the antimicrobial media slows the rate at which the filter becomes clogged, thereby increasing its service life.
HAF filters use an electrostatic charge to operate with twice the efficiency of standard washable foam filters. Consequently, they attract, capture, and retain more pollutants and particles than traditional filter media.
The HAF filter keeps the Disinfection Chamber of the AIR160 cleaner, therefore ensuring optimized air disinfection. Additionally, the filter’s open channel structure offers minimal airflow resistance, which guarantees maximum particle removal and airflow. Furthermore, the HAF filter contains an antimicrobial agent that prevents mould growth, further increasing its performance.
Airborne dust capture also helps maintain productivity of in-room heating and air conditioning units.
After passing through the filter, the air is treated with UV-C radiation. Specifically, the special Philips UV-C lamp in the unit generates ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nanometres.
The UV-C light destroys viruses, bacteria, moulds, and other primitive organisms. This radiation damages the DNA structure of micro-organisms, preventing their reproduction.
Moreover, the special aluminium interior of the housing reflects the UV-C radiation, thereby increasing its efficiency by up to 50%.

Finally, the air passes through the ionizer. The ionizer introduces 8.5 million negative ions per cubic centimetre into the air. Typically, most dust particles in an enclosed space carry a positive charge. Therefore, negative ions attract these positively charged dust particles. By adding negative ions to the air, the positive particles become heavier and sink towards the ground. As a result, this process produces cleaner, dust- and pollen-free air.

The AIR300 has two chambers, into which a filter module can be placed.
Available filter modules are:
- A module, which controls toluene and/or Formaldehyde
- A HEPA filter module
- A UV disinfection module, equipped with 2x a 24 watt Philips UV-C lamp
Depending on the problem, the unit can be equipped with either a single module, or a combination of any two. Changing the filter cassette is simple and will take less than 20 seconds.
To ensure the air composition is monitored, the AIR300 is equipped with a particle sensor which constantly measures the air quality. Set in Auto mode it will adjust the air speed so as to optimise air filtration.
